San Diego
Geography
San Diego is located along the San
Diego Bay, 12 miles north of the Mexican border. Two large peninsulas form the
Bay, one of the best natural harbors in the world. The Coronado Bridge connects
San Diego to the shore of the southern peninsula.
Many tourists visit the city to enjoy
the beaches and to swim and surf in the Pacific Ocean. A one-hour drive east
brings visitors to forests and meadows, and rolling mountains and valleys. The
hot, dry desert is only another hour away.
In one day, visitors to San Diego can
experience many different climates and geographical features.
